Jazz band tees up a week of music in the Etherredge Center

USC Aiken has a lot of music to present this week! Make sure to check out both the jazz band and the wind ensemble concerts, as the jazz band performs on Tuesday and the wind ensemble on Thursday.

The jazz band is set to perform on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Etherredge Center on the main stage. The concert will feature a fun selection of works by jazz legends such as John Coltrane, Horace Silver, Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Parker.

The jazz band will also feature a special guest vocalist, Dr. Keely Rhodes, assistant professor of music and coordinator of vocal studies. Her vocals will add a shimmering touch to the concert’s sound, and the combination of the music and the lyrics create a fantastic story. Dr. Rhodes’s voice will be heard on Horace Silver’s “Just Friends” as well as Ella Fitzgerald’s “Misty.”

The concert will be free to the public and will also be an ICE event for USC Aiken students, so come out for a great show and a quick and fun ICE event! The USC Aiken jazz band is always looking for musicians to collaborate with, so whether you’re interested in jazz at USC Aiken, a general fan of music or in need of a hassle-free ICE credit, attend this event!
