Wind ensemble set to perform their final concert of the semester

USC Aiken has a lot of music to present this week! Make sure to check out both the jazz band and the wind ensemble concerts, as the jazz band performs on Tuesday and the wind ensemble on Thursday.

The wind ensemble will perform their final concert of the semester on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Etherredge Center on the main stage. The wind ensemble is under the baton of Dr. Hayes Bunch, assistant professor of music and director of bands. He describes the concert as, “a smorgasbord of works ranging from the Baroque period music of Handel to the Romantic period music of Mendelssohn to the young and upcoming contemporary music of Mattea Williams.”

The concert will feature works from great composers throughout music history as well as more recent composers. Works from Harrison J. Collins, Robert Spittal, Felix Mendelssohn, George Frideric Handel, Mattea Williams and Ralph Vaughan Williams will all be featured.

Ticket prices are $10 for the general public and free for USC Aiken students, faculty and staff if a school ID is provided. The concert will also be an ICE Event for USC Aiken students, which is a great reason to show some support to the wind ensemble’s musicians!

Tickets can be purchased online at etherredgecenter.universitytickets.com, by calling (803)-641-3305 or by visiting the box office in the Etherredge Center lobby. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
