English Department Get-Together

The USC Aiken English department hosted a get-together for students and alumni on March 15.

Pizza, refreshments, desserts and free t-shirts were available. The party included most of the English majors, professors and a couple of alumni.

The party started at 4:30 p.m. and had an excellent turnout. The list of English majors is quite small, so the number of people that showed up was surprising. This event gave English majors a chance to mingle and get to know one another. Students could spend time conversating with their professors as well as meeting other professors within the department.

This event was not closed to only English majors and encouraged non-English majors to come get a feel for the department if they were interested. Aside from mingling, Dr. Carlson’s son gave a wonderful live performance of a Hamlet scene!

Alumni that came to the party also gave advice to everyone on future jobs and talked about their experiences in the English department.
