Saving money in a pandemic

Saving money in a pandemic

If you are anything like me, and you have an everlasting burning hole in your pocket, living in a pandemic and saving money seems like a nightmare.

Regular bills on top of food expenses, school supplies and whatever else can be hefty charges.  Here is a technique to save money.

Whether you get paid weekly or biweekly, this method is a system to divide and conquer. I divide my check into 4 categories: bills, savings, daily living and leisure. Let’s say I make $400 one week. I will take half of that to put toward bills. Pay your bills first! Then I will split that remaining $200 into the remaining categories.

There are also several budgeting apps on the App Store that can help you divide your check.

Why include savings? I can’t stress this enough: save a bit, somewhere safe. If you need to, have someone hold you accountable for saving.

Building savings is a challenging pursuit, but you never know when you will need money for an emergency.

It’s important to remember everyone earns different amounts of money. There is no set amount you have to save. Just be consistent and always save for your future.
