Traveling over break

If you are anything like me, you will want to get out of Aiken for a while. Though it is not safe to explore the world quite yet, here are some tips if you do find yourself traveling to see family over the break.

Check your car

Before going anywhere on a long trip you will want to check anything and everything about your car: tire pressure, oil, washer fluid, coolant, the air filter, maybe even have someone check it all if you are less experienced.

Wear a mask

Though grandma and grandpa may be dying to see you, you don’t want them to die any sooner. Wear a mask when visiting people that are not in your immediate family.

Stop touching things

At home or even dorms we don’t think so much about the surfaces we touch, whether that be doorknobs, sinks, or drawers. It is second nature. Though when visiting someone in a pandemic, it is something that we should be cautious of. Avoid high contact areas and wash your hands often.
