COVID mitigation plans

The fall semester at USCA has been unique because of its COVID-19 protocols.

Now as students return home for the rest of the semester, we still have to be cautious in order to protect our family and friends and so that we can return safely in the spring.

According to the USCA website, the 2020-2021 mitigation plan is based on the health and wellbeing of all faculty members and students, and commitment to academic excellence under the given circumstances.

In an update message to the students on the school website, chancellor Sandra Jordan mentioned that the current precautions will continue throughout the spring semester and that this fall break is the perfect time to reinforce our safety practices so that we can return stronger than ever.

“While a vaccine seems to be on our horizon, we will continue to take precautions through the spring 2021 semester. So, while we all are experiencing coronavirus fatigue…now is the time to ‘double-down’ on taking precautions,” said Jordan.

The school recommends that students get COVID testing before returning home or at least at the beginning of the break. During the holiday season it is likely that most students will be seeing their loved ones, so it’s a smart choice to get tested as a form of prevention. USCA faculty also suggests that students should continue wearing masks in the appropriate fashion over the break.
