Broken Ink Release Party

On Wednesday, Apr. 10th, Broken Ink hosted a release party in celebration of Volume 56 of Broken Ink being released. Prior to the presentation, attendees were given the chance to mingle while grabbing free pizza and copies of Broken Ink.

The presentation segment of the party showcased a poetry reading by USCA professor Dr. Amanda Warren, who read poems from her soon to be released collection Rituals for to Call Down Light. The presentation also included an award ceremony in which the Ink Splat and Washington Group award winners were recognized and presented with certificates. Finally, Angela James performed a single that she had previously submitted to the magazine.

As Dr. Roy Seeger said in his opening remarks, “Keep creating.” Submission to Broken Ink is free and gives USCA students the opportunity to become published and win awards. I highly recommend submitting any creative work you produce. If you missed the release party, you can still find free copies of the magazine around campus. For any students looking for a fun evening in which they can receive ICE credit and free food while participating in the on-campus literary and arts community, be sure to come to the next Broken Ink release party.
