Why "Alpha Male" Podcasts are Detrimental to Men and Women

Why "Alpha Male" Podcasts are Detrimental to Men and Women

In the past few years, we have witnessed a surge of people deciding to start podcasts to express their opinions. Podcasters share their opinions regarding social issues, popular culture and politics while others use their platform to give advice on dating, spirituality and self-help.

Lately, there are podcast shows that give advice and guidance to men on becoming a “high-value man” or “alpha male”. These podcast interviewers discuss gender roles in relationships and what is considered a “high-value man”. Some of these platforms have toxic and misogynistic views that are detrimental to both genders. While their views contain some traditional values it is not difficult to detect sexist undertones behind their messages.

Alpha Male podcasters influence young men and help shape their perspectives on women and relationships. It creates a preconceived notion that women are inferior to them. This is detrimental to women because they end up coming across men who listen to these podcasters, and it makes dating difficult. Women ultimately come across men who share these similar misogynistic values.

It is unfortunate that men like this still exist, but we must keep in mind that not all men have misogynistic values. As a society, we must respect the opposite genders’ differences. Most importantly we cannot take what every podcaster says as the gospel truth. People do have the right to share their views and opinions, but we must keep in mind that their opinions should not influence our thinking on critical subjects.
