Show Recommendation: Grace and Frankie
Grace and Frankie is a Netflix series that ran from 2015-2022. Lilly Tomlin plays the goofy, artsy and pot-head character of Frankie Bergstein and Jane Fonda plays the uptight, borderline alcoholic character of Grace Hanson. Their husbands are both partners in a law firm and long-time friends, so the families are constantly vacationing and spending holidays together. At the beginning of the show, Grace and Frankie hate each other.
Eventually their husbands, Sol and Robert confess to Frankie and Grace that they have been having an affair for a very long time. This sends the families into a spiral and slowly drives Grace and Frankie to live together in the family beach house.
This show is amazing due to the hilarious dynamics between Frankie, Grace, Robert, Sol and their grown children. The show explores themes of self-growth, love and finding friendship in unexpected places.
Although the cast is predominately older, this shows is great for everyone!
This show is genuinely so heartwarming, hilarious and also upsetting at times. I highly recommend checking it out next time you are browsing for a new series to start on Netflix. There are seven seasons, so you genuinely build a connection with these characters.
