The Basement, A Pacer Times Halloween

Often I would hear noises coming from the basement.

I always asked my mom “what's that noise coming from the basement?”

She would always reply “It's probably a mouse”.

But all I could hear is a noise like that of a whimpering dog.

One day I decided to go down to the basement. It was a small basement that had two steps. I opened the door and stepped in and started looking for the dog.

I hear running and my mother pulled me away from the basement and started yelling at me while closing the basement door.

“Didn’t I tell you to worry or go to the basement!” My mother had never yelled like this before.

My mother left before I could ask why that boy in the basement was making noises like a puppy, or why he had no hands or feet.
