Many of our summer breaks included working, spending time with immediate family (due to social distancing) and wearing masks. What not everyone experienced is actually having the coronavirus.

However, I and our Editor-in-Chief experienced COVID-19. I am naturally immunocompromised due to low lung capacity, severe asthma and other chronic illnesses.

When I started feeling ill, I felt like death. I knew that something was very wrong. My sister had already contracted the virus and I was quarantining, but somehow I got the virus. It spreads so quickly.

I quarantined for 14 days and still felt horrible. Even after quarantining, I was testing still positive and was told I could possibly test positive for up to three months with the virus just in my system.

I am still experiencing the effects of the virus, with daily fatigue and naps. Now I am on a daily regimen of additional inhalers.

Just in case you think it is, COVID-19 is no joke.
