How to stay sane and healthy during social distancing

How to stay sane and healthy during social distancing

  1. Learn about a new hobby or practice an old one!

  2. Get some exercise! Both the Apple Store and Google Play have great apps for this, and many physical fitness apps are offering free content during the COVID-19 quarantine, such as the Down Dog app for yoga.

  3. Make sure you’re taking care of your mental health, spend time doing something you love, talk to friends, family or a therapist on the phone or online, or access some sweet online resources, such as those listed on warmline.org or try a Facebook group.

  4. Remember knowledge is power! Understand how your particular immune system and risk factors relate to the COVID-19 disease. Do not panic. Just take precautions.

  5. Set up a designated space for “schoolwork only.” Keep that as your go-to-school spot, so that it’s separate from relaxation time, and you are able to prioritize things and stay organized.

  6. Escape to television shows and movies on netflix.com, hulu.com and primevideo.com.

  7. Read a good book or graphic novel, whatever you enjoy.

  8. If cooking is not your thing, keep things simple, shop for prepared frozen foods and use the microwave. It’s easy and the variety of meals available is amazing.

  9. Vitamin D is important; go for a walk outside or play a game in your backyard to get some. Just remember to keep social distancing!

  10. Make your home feel comfy and cozy. Stuck with this online learning a few weeks, so make your space as nice as possible.
