USCA faces off agains Young Harris in back and forth brawl

The Pacer women lost to Young Harris 56 to 71 last Saturday, Feb. 15, trailing just behind the rival team throughout the game.

Though the Pacers came out looking for ways to keep getting the ball down the court as fast as they could, Young Harris kept finding ways to block in the first quarter. By the time the first half was over the Mountain Lions had gained an 8 point lead.

Three players got 10 points or above, with Kwajelin Farrar scoring 12, Chesnay Gardner with 14 and Alexis Mack at 10.

By the end, the Pacer women were down by too much to pull out the win.

The Pacer men took revenge during their game, winning 86 to 82.

They came out locked and loaded at home, scoring and defending rapidly, stealing every other play. There were a couple of exciting dunks, along with three’s that seemed impossible to make. They ended the first half up 51-42.

The high-scoring players were Damontez Oliver with 14 points, Faison Brock with 14 points and Shaquan Jules with 23 points. The Mountain Lions tried their best to come back near the end of the game, but the Pacers made sure to keep the score up by a good margin.

USC Aiken will play UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m.
