Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is the month of wearing pink!

October marks the month of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is done in hopes of raising awareness for screening of breast cancer. 

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers seen in women in the world. 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. 

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is crucial for:

• Screening Breast Cancer

• Educating others about the side effects, risks, and potential warning signs.

• Supporting those who are currently struggling with breast cancer. 

Getting screened for breast cancer is crucial to helping women catch the disease early. Catching breast cancer in the early stages can be life-saving. This can be done by getting yearly mammograms in your late 30’s - early 40’s.

Potential Symptoms:

• A lump in the breast or underarm 

• Change in shape or size of breast 

• Pain around the underarm to the breast area 

• Suspicious discharge (blood)

Being aware of the potential breast cancer symptoms and regularly checking for them can be life-saving!
