Opinion: Mental Health

The month is September which is also National Suicide Awareness month.

I believe Mental Health plays a key role in combating depression and everyday events. In USCA, there are over three thousand five hundred students.

I know that each student has a different story or a different reason for going to USCA. Regardless, mental health is a common ground for all people to let themselves take a break from all stress.

I believe that USCA has done a splendid job in bringing awareness and creating events to create a stress-free environment.

One example of this would be the plate smashing that happened right outside of the Student Activity Center (SAC). The amount o fun I had doing that reminded me to take things one step at a time and not forget to enjoy little moments like these.

For this event, they also handed out small journals to keep track of school, happiness, etc. I vividly remember thing day because my spirits were lifted.

I look forward to seeing what more USCA will create to bring awareness and raise morale for Mental Health.
