Video Game Review: Slime Rancher

Video Game Review: Slime Rancher

Slime Rancher shows the journey of Beatrix LeBeau as she leaves Earth to become a rancher on the “Far Far Ranch”. As LeBeau explores the new terrain, she discovers different vegetables, fruits, animals and slimes.

Slime Rancher is a peaceful and easy game. The main goal is to explore, find new discoveries and expand the ranch. The animation style of the game is vibrant and cartoony which creates entertaining gameplay.

The only “bad guys” in the game are tar slimes, which are extremely easy to get rid of. This game is great for beginners since there is not much fighting.

Slimes are one of the main focuses of the game, which makes sense due to the game title. Slimes are cute creatures that come in many shapes, sizes and colors. The farther LeBau explores, the more rare slimes she finds.

This game allows the player to collect slimes and put them in a corral back at the ranch. Each slime has a different diet; meat, fruit, or vegetables. After feeding the slimes they shoot out plorts.

Plorts are the currency of the game. The rarer the slime, the more money their plort is worth. Plorts are essential for buying new plots of land, creating corrals, gardening and upgrades.

Overall, this is a wonderful game for everyone! It is easy enough for those not well-versed in video games but entertaining enough to keep experienced gamers hooked. The game offers so much to explore and discover.

This game is priced around $15-$25 and is available for purchase online or in stores. Slime Rancher 2 is currently available for free through game pass.
