Student body president named Aiken Sunrise Rotary Club Student of the Month

Student body president Eva Slagle has recently been named Aiken Sunrise Rotary Club Student of the Month for November. Former students of the month include Burley Johnson in October and Aisha Griffin in September.

Slagle decided to run for student body president after becoming a figure of leadership on campus while working for housing.

Slagle’s future aspirations include working in community development and community outreach/working alongside local non-profit organizations. She is a senior communication major at USCA and a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society as well as the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. On campus, she has served as a marketing intern for campus dining and a student office assistant for housing. Slagle also co-founded Delight Ministries – a Christian organization on campus for college-aged women.

Slagle’s hobbies include photography (particularly portraits and events), hiking and spending time with her dogs. She also enjoys visiting local restaurants with friends.

The Rotary Club places an emphasis on leadership development, and citizenship in the community among other things. The club chooses each student of the month based on their leadership skills and activeness on campus and within the community. Past recipients of this honor were interviewed at USCA; As of now, a November 2021 interview with Slagle has yet to be posted
