Seven healthy ways to relax over extended Spring Break

Seven healthy ways to relax over extended Spring Break

Break away from the overwhelming cycle of school with these stress-relieving activities:

1. Reading

You’re probably thinking, why reading? I just read 30 pages for my last test. For me, books are a road that allows me to escape into another world, it distracts me from overthinking and being stressed out from school or work. It’s my go-to when I need to relax.

2. Create art

Let yourself create something freely this break. During school, you have a daily schedule. This break I dare you to try something new. You don’t have to make a masterpiece, just let yourself be free and create.

3. Play a board game

Board games can be fun when you are trying to compete with friends or family members. Board games require you to think in a non-academic way, plus it takes your mind off things. Also, this is a great time to catch up with friends and family.

4. Turn off your phone

Spend your day without your phone or technology, interact yourself with the world around you. You never know you might find something interesting.

5. Spend time with a pet

Go on a walk with your dogs or just spend time with your furry friends. If you don’t have a pet you can always visit a friend who has one!

6. Watch your favorite childhood movies

This is another way to connect yourself to the old days, it reminds you of the time when you had nothing to worry about.

7. Go for a long drive with your best friend

Me and my best friend like to make random drives to the beach and walking the shore at night. The long car ride is enjoyable because now we just have so much to tell each other. A long drive to a scenic destination is perfect for a change of environment.
