Column: Music students need more practice spaces

As a musician, it is imperative to practice as much as possible. One problem many of the music students at USC Aiken have run into is the lack of practice spaces available.

There are only about four to five rooms dedicated to individual student practice, yet there are a large number of students that need the spaces.

It is extremely difficult to find an open practice room during the busy weekdays, and music students need to practice individually almost daily.

Another problem music students run into is other students who use the practice spaces as study rooms or hang out spaces. The four to five rooms that are open to students to practice in are not meant to be used for students to study or congregate in, especially since there are so few rooms available.

Hopefully, in the future there will be more practice spaces allotted for music students to utilize and rehearse in.
