Third-seeded players Francesco Satta and Alex Sklizovic helped account for a 6-4 win at No. 3.

The action continued to heat up when men’s singles started on the courts. Silva needed three sets against his counterpart, but still took the top singles spot with 7-6, 2-6, 7-6.
