“Does it make sense to try again with someone because you envision a great future and you think if you work hard enough in the relationship it will be great?”

Hey everyone! It’s your favorite girl with the best advice in the world. Someone sent in this question and that’s tough one to answer, even for me.

The truth of the matter is that we all fall for potential. Potentially, he could be the one. Maybe, she’s my soulmate. Quite possibly, I just found the love of my life. The list goes on and on. But after a while, you see the real person, and choose whether or not you fall in love with what you see.

In newer relationships, meaning that you just met or you haven’t been involved that long, it’s okay to get lost in what could be. Eventually you will come down from cloud 9 and land on solid ground and that’s when the real relationship work starts.

But to answer your question, no it doesn’t make sense.

I am such a big supporter of giving people second chances IF they deserve it. Just because the picture that you had planned didn’t pan out, does not mean a new picture would be any less beautiful. Sometimes people just aren’t meant to go all the way with us and that’s okay.

Whatever you decide, make sure it’s the best choice for you.
